The Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for Sri Lanka is an official authorization granted by Sri Lanka Government for applicants who wish to travel to Sri Lanka for a short visit for transit, tourism or business purposes.
Any citizen who wish to travel to Sri Lanka for a short visit must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), except citizens of The Republic of Singapore, The Republic of Maldives and The Republic of Seychelles, which are exempt from the requirement of obtaining it on the basis of reprocity.
All eligible applicants can obtain the required ETA by filling a simple form online. There is no need for paperwork, nor photocopies of passports or photos.
Applicants may apply for tourism ETA and business ETA.
No documentation is required to apply for a Sri Lanka ETA. However, applicant needs to hold a valid passport for a minimum period of 6 months. In addition, at Customs applicant will be asked to show a round trip ticket (in case he is travelling by air) and evidence of sufficient funds to cover his expenses in Sri Lanka.
Yes, each applicant needs his own ETA application.
It normally takes a few hours and 99% of cases are approved within the first three business days. However, for reasons beyond our control, sometimes the process may take longer.
If your eVisa is rejected we will do everything in our power to assist you. If we don’t succeed we will refund our processing fees. Take into account that sometimes ETAs are rejected by the government without giving any explanation. In that case we do recommend to visit your nearest Embassy or Consulate to address the situation in person.
